The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruno de Alcântara to make the kick off. Charles Damião made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hernani Capixaba in the 57th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Hernani Capixaba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Millwall FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hernani Capixaba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charles Damião breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 64 minutes into the match, Almecegas's goalkeeper Charles Damião had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hernani Capixaba. Charles Damião made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Marcel Vides sent off a good shot on target. After 67 minutes Almecegas's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hernani Capixaba who took care of the corner kick. Millwall FC's Luiz Guilherme Siqueira was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Charles Damião in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Charles Damião was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Hernani Capixaba showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 75 minute of play. Caco Alvarenga charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Caco Alvarenga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Severino Dantas hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. After 93 played minutes Almecegas got a freekick which was hit by Zézinho Quadros. The long shot by Marcel Vides in the 95th minute really tested Charles Damião's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Hernani Capixaba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Charles Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Almecegas succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Millwall FC had controlled the match.
