FC's Zé Roberto Braga suffered a sore thigh after 11 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 11 minutes, Gildo Coelho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costello and the INF. FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 12th match minute, Costello was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gildo Coelho to maneuver through the defense. Elder Guerra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Celso dos Santos made a huge save. 19 minutes into the match, INF. FC's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo José Arruda came free, but Edu Sá reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elder Guerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pedro Augusto de Carvalho's late challenge caught a Costello's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Augusto de Carvalho helped the player get up and apologised. Costello's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Walmir Viana in the 27th minute. Alex Sampaio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Elder Guerra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celso dos Santos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Paulo José Arruda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edu Sá having to interfere. After 79 played minutes INF. FC got a freekick which was hit by William Viana. When Paulo José Travassos fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costello's protests and gave Paulo José Travassos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 81st match minute, Costello was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo José Travassos to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elder Guerra in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. INF. FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Costello to leave the ground with a draw.
