The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Eme SC got a freekick which was hit by Serginho Hoffmann. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luisão Vaz in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mário Veiga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With 7 minutes on the clock, Jano Cardoso commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 6 minutes into the game, one of Peruíbe FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. With a little luck, Peruíbe FC's Luiz Teles got control of the ball when Pedro Paulo Vasconcelos tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Marcelinho Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Peruíbe FC's Anderson Faria got a free kick in the 16th minute. Luiz Teles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelinho Alvarenga in the 20th minute of play. After some careless play in the Eme SC defense, Anderson Faria kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mário Veiga. The Eme SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mário Veiga should have stopped the shot. In the 27th match minute, Eme SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Moreno to maneuver through the defense. 30 minutes in the game Pedro Augusto Santana did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Anderson Faria. A collision led to Eme SC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Ernesto Moreno hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute, Pedro Augusto Santana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 37 minutes, Anderson Faria mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Peruíbe FC and the Eme SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Anderson Faria kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Marcelinho Alvarenga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luiz Teles. Peruíbe FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcelinho Alvarenga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 45th minute Marcelinho Alvarenga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Teles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcelinho Alvarenga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luisão Vaz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Mário Veiga made a huge save. Luiz Teles didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pedro Paulo Vasconcelos went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Yan Furtado charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yan Furtado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Eme SC! In the 75th match minute, Peruíbe FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisão Vaz to maneuver through the defense. Luiz Teles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Moreno, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Rubinho Simão hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Luiz Teles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelinho Alvarenga in the 82nd minute of play. Eme SC's Mário Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisão Vaz in the 88th minute of play. After some careless play in the Eme SC defense, Luisão Vaz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mário Veiga. The Eme SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mário Veiga should have stopped the shot. Luisão Vaz's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 97thth minute, Mário Veiga skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
