The supporters of Confiança F.C booed when Pais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toninho Furtado didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luisão Araújo in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gildo Fontes saved Pais from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Pais's Toninho Furtado got a free kick in the 19th minute. Leandro Nascimento was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 20th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the last second Gildo Fontes throw himself and got hold of the ball when Luisão Araújo in the 25thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. With a little luck, Pais's Gildo Fontes got control of the ball when Isaltino Terra tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Edinho Pena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the match, Pais's Jonathan Andrade sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Humberto Valle narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Isaltino Terra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Gildo Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Confiança F.C getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Jorginho Simões hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Paulo da Silveira charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paulo da Silveira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 54 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pais! 64 minutes into the match, Pais's goal looked a bit too open when Isaltino Terra came free, but Gildo Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo da Silveira lost his temper 64 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 64th minute of the game. One of Pais:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Confiança F.C:s goal. The referee gave Confiança F.C a penalty, 66 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Leandro Nascimento, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Pais's Gildo Fontes. 2-0. 69 minutes into the game, Claudinho Mineiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pais's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Confiança F.C the free kick. After 69 played minutes Pais got a freekick which was hit by Claudinho Mineiro. If Isaltino Terra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isaltino Terra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gildo Fontes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Gildo Fontes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luisão Araújo's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Jonathan Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Valle having to interfere. Samuel Tepedino charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Samuel Tepedino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 86 played minutes Confiança F.C got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Tepedino. Evandro Mello, 87 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Confiança F.C's Isaltino Terra got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gildo Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaltino Terra in the 94th minute of play. If Isaltino Terra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Confiança F.C were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Pais for a fine match.
