The audience was convinced that Albertinho Rossi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sidnei Santos was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Percy Linhares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastião Corrêa having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, Gilmar Alves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Sebastião Corrêa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 27 minutes into the match, Witmarsum FC's goalkeeper Sebastião Corrêa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilmar Alves. Percy Linhares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sebastião Corrêa having to make a save. Sidnei Santos came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Witmarsum FC's João Vítor Paraense. But to his dismay, João Vítor Paraense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. A hard shot 44 in the game by Gilmar Alves from a close distance when the talented Sebastião Corrêa managed to make a qualified save. Witmarsum FC's players were relieved. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Witmarsum FC's goalkeeper Sebastião Corrêa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Albertinho Rossi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 57th minute, Haroldo Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 58 minutes of play, Witmarsum FC's Albertinho Rossi made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sidnei Santos was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, JL Sport Clube's Dráuzio Dante got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Luís Eduardo Amaral was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 63rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 65 minutes into the match, JL Sport Clube's goal looked a bit too open when João Vítor Paraense came free, but Sidnei Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albertinho Rossi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Sidnei Santos made a huge save. Sidnei Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Vítor Paraense in the 68th minute of the match. Ramiro Amorim hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, JL Sport Clube's Kléberson Guerra tried to score from far away in the 71st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. JL Sport Clube's Sidnei Santos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save JL Sport Clube from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in JL Sport Clube's zone, Albertinho Rossi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sidnei Santos came out of the goal and Albertinho Rossi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. João Vítor Paraense struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Sidnei Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Witmarsum FC. Ramiro Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in JL Sport Clube's zone, João Vítor Paraense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sidnei Santos came out of the goal and João Vítor Paraense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sebastião Corrêa came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by JL Sport Clube's Gilmar Alves. But to his dismay, Gilmar Alves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Witmarsum FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
