In the 4th minute, Dráuzio Dante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 7th minute, Dráuzio Dante got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 9 minutes, Dudu Simão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the JL Sport Clube and the Lunáticos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th minute of the match Aloísio Neto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sidnei Santos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a little luck, JL Sport Clube's Sidnei Santos got control of the ball when Cipriano Siqueira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cipriano Siqueira succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 17th playminute. In the 21st minute Gilmar Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldão Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilmar Alves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ronaldão Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilmar Alves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cipriano Siqueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronaldão Luz came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by JL Sport Clube's Percy Linhares. But to his dismay, Percy Linhares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Dedê Pinheiro hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Percy Linhares scored 1-2 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ronaldão Luz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 45th minute Edgard Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidnei Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edgard Fernandez to make the kick off. If Gilmar Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ronaldão Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Percy Linhares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Haroldo Fonseca charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Haroldo Fonseca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Haroldo Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. JL Sport Clube's Sidnei Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Fernandez in the 55th minute of play. Edgard Fernandez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sidnei Santos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. After a rather tough play, JL Sport Clube's Dráuzio Dante got a free kick in the 58th minute. Cipriano Siqueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cipriano Siqueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Sidnei Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Edgard Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dudu Simão lost his temper 74 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 73rd minute, one of JL Sport Clube:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for JL Sport Clube. Cipriano Siqueira struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Sidnei Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lunáticos FC. Cipriano Siqueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidnei Santos having to interfere. A collision led to JL Sport Clube getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Gilmar Alves hit a great ball. JL Sport Clube's Sidnei Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Fernandez in the 88th minute of play. If Cipriano Siqueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilmar Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldão Luz having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
