Varzedo's Fausto de Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elias Vander in the 6th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Inmigrantes FC's Tony Rocha got a free kick in the 7th minute. Raúl Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão Cearense having to interfere. If Delfim França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raúl Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Simão Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tony Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ricardo Guerra came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Varzedo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricardo Guerra couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Delfim França managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varzedo's supporters rose to their feet, but Delfim França was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simão Cearense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Ricardo Guerra came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Varzedo fans jumped to their feet. In the 34th match minute, Inmigrantes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardinho Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. 36 minutes into the match, Inmigrantes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Delfim França came free, but Simão Cearense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Raúl Paraibano made a kick off. Dieguinho Mota sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Ricardo Guerra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varzedo's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardo Guerra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simão Cearense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juvenal Maranhense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ricardo Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. Ricardo Guerra blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Simão Cearense having to make a save. In the 61st minute Gilmar de Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto de Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Simão Cearense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raúl Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74thth minute of the game Ricardo Guerra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Inmigrantes FC's Simão Cearense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Juvenal Maranhense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Simão Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Simão Cearense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raúl Paraibano, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. The Inmigrantes FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Varzedo were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
