Varzedo's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Delfim França could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Enio Bueno made a huge save. Abelardo Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enio Bueno having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Raúl Paraibano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varzedo's supporters rose to their feet, but Raúl Paraibano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enio Bueno breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Pedro Luís Campidelis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tupancireta EC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Raúl Paraibano 37 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Enio Bueno was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 47th minute, Delfim França got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

After 53 minutes Tupancireta EC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Delfim França who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Delfim França got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Enio Bueno quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Fausto de Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Pedro Cunha in the 55th minute of the match. Enio Bueno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Tupancireta EC's goal looked a bit too open when Delfim França came free, but Enio Bueno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
