With a couple of smart ball manuevers Romeu Sena in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Osvaldinho Damião saved Meaipe from getting behind. Sitinho's Carlos Novaes got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Romeu Sena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Romeu Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 26 played minutes Meaipe got a freekick which was hit by Sebastião Sanches. Carlos Novaes scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Osvaldinho Damião, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 32 minutes, Toninho Paraibano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Meaipe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toninho Paraibano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Romeu Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Carlos Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 46th minute, Gugu Duarte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Meaipe players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sitinho were winning 0-1.

Osvaldinho Damião showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romeu Sena in the 53rd minute of the match. Meaipe's Toninho Paraibano got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 59th match minute, Meaipe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adelino Barros to maneuver through the defense. When Romeu Sena came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Sitinho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romeu Sena couldn't finish the play. Róbson Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gugu Duarte in the 83rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diego França during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Meaipe booed when Sitinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego França didn't get a good kick on the ball. Meaipe's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adelino Barros in the 86th minute. In the 92nd match minute, Sitinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego França to maneuver through the defense. Sitinho's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
