Cláudio Baiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Leme having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Edu Teles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rodonopolis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sampa Team the free kick. Edu Teles kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Geraldo Teixeira got his second yellow card in the match during the 25th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Sampa Team booed when Rodonopolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessandro Messias didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute of the match Ulysses Veiga shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcus Veloso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Cláudio Baiano came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Rodonopolis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cláudio Baiano couldn't finish the play. In the 35th match minute, Sampa Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulysses Veiga to maneuver through the defense. Pedro de Godoi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Marcus Veloso made a huge save. Marcus Veloso made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Pedro de Godoi sent off a good shot on target. In the 46th minute, Glauco Meirelles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amadeu Silva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Sampa Team's Amadeu Silva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcus Veloso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pedro de Godoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Cláudio Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rodonopolis's supporters rose to their feet, but Cláudio Baiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Leme breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 64 minutes into the match, Sampa Team's goalkeeper Paulo Leme had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cláudio Baiano. Ulysses Souto hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Cláudio Baiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Rodonopolis's Cláudio Baiano got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cláudio Baiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Leme having to interfere. After having played for 88 minutes, Cláudio Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rodonopolis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cláudio Baiano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Rodonopolis walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
