In the 38th minute Leonardo Gomes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otávio Faria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Francisco Velloso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Otávio Faria having to make a save. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as João Francisco Velloso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Otávio Faria. That made the score 1-2 in the 69 minute of play. 77 minutes into the game, Célio Cerezo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rossensal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Londrina Esporte Clube the free kick.
