Spectators: 7248 (Terracing: 5437, Seating: 1667, VIP seats: 144) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eurico Sena started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Galo Cego FC's Belmiro Fernandes got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Osvaldinho Damião took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amauri Chaves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aílton Dante during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 7th minute, Aílton Dante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Eurico Sena came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Galo Cego FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eurico Sena couldn't finish the play. In the 14th minute Eurico Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldinho Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute Aílton Dante suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Teodoro Oliveira fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galo Cego FC's protests and gave Teodoro Oliveira a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Galo Cego FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Teodoro Oliveira hit a great ball. After taking down the ball on Galo Cego FC's corner Teodoro Oliveira fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Osvaldinho Damião quite easily take care of the ball. Toninho Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Sandrinho Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th match minute, Meaipe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Carioca to maneuver through the defense. Osvaldinho Damião made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eurico Sena in the 33rd minute of play. A collision led to Meaipe getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Carlos Carioca hit a great ball. After having played for 45 minutes, Eurico Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galo Cego FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eurico Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Toninho Paraibano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Gugu Duarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandrinho Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eurico Sena took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Osvaldinho Damião. Osvaldinho Damião dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Eurico Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldinho Damião having to interfere. Eurico Sena who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Osvaldinho Damião when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Eurico Senas short, quick shot in the 74thth minute got Osvaldinho Damião to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Osvaldinho Damião showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amauri Chaves, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After a rather tough play, Meaipe's Toninho Paraibano got a free kick in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the game, Eurico Sena cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Osvaldinho Damião was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eurico Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Osvaldinho Damião made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eurico Sena in the 92nd minute. Meaipe's Osvaldinho Damião played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amauri Chaves in the 93rd minute of play. If Eurico Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eurico Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Osvaldinho Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Galo Cego FC played a much better game than Meaipe and deserved their victory. The Meaipe players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
