Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alfredinho Azevedo to make the kick off. Frédson Miranda came out of the goal and Aírton Brito tried to chip the ball over his head. Confiança's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Factum in Memoriam the free kick. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 78 minutes of play, Confiança's Rui Vale made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. In the 94th minute of the match, Rui Vale tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Frédson Miranda saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After having played for 96 minutes, Cléberson Dante managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Factum in Memoriam's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cléberson Dante was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Confiança's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
