The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Apolo FC booed when Bezerras SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurício Bittencourt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Apolo FC's Anselmo Freitas seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Anselmo Freitas the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Apolo FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Anselmo Freitas had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 18th minute of the game. One of Apolo FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Bezerras SS:s goal. The referee gave Bezerras SS a penalty, 20 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Vágner Arantes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Apolo FC's Silas Sá. 0-1. Silas Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oséas Saraiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Eriberto Arruda might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maurício Bittencourt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eriberto Arruda ran back to his position shaking his head. 30 minutes into the game, Pedro Luiz Tande was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Apolo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bezerras SS the free kick. 33 minutes in the game Percy Sena did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Tadeu Veiga. In the 33rd minute, Charles de Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomé Domingues's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maurício Bittencourt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. After 37 played minutes Bezerras SS got a freekick which was hit by Tadeu Veiga. When Pedro Luiz Tande came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Apolo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Luiz Tande couldn't finish the play. Pedro Luiz Tande sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oséas Saraiva made a kick off. 51 minutes in the game Vágner Arantes did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Percy Sena. 53 minutes into the game, Zé Roberto Branco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bezerras SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Apolo FC the free kick. A collision led to Bezerras SS getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Zé Roberto Branco hit a great ball. Eriberto Arruda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vágner Arantes made in the 57th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Percy Sena immediately put the ball in play. After having played for 60 minutes, Ronaldo Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Apolo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronaldo Aguiar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 61 minutes into the match, Apolo FC's Tomé Domingues sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Maurício Bittencourt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 63rd minute, Ronaldo Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ronaldo Aguiar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Maurício Bittencourt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Eriberto Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maurício Bittencourt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin Perez in the 72nd minute of play. Tadeu Veiga charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tadeu Veiga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 73 played minutes Bezerras SS got a freekick which was hit by Tadeu Veiga. After a rather tough play, Apolo FC's Pedro Luiz Tande got a free kick in the 74th minute. In the 75th match minute, Apolo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Soares to maneuver through the defense. Eriberto Arruda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 84 minutes in the game Percy Sena did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Oséas Saraiva. In the 86th minute, Apolo FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Zé Roberto Branco fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Maurício Bittencourt came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Apolo FC's Tomé Domingues. But to his dismay, Tomé Domingues quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1.
