A collision led to Pixe getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Zé Carlos França hit a great ball. 7 minutes into the match, Pixe's goal looked a bit too open when Kiko Alvarenga came free, but Paulo José Vaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovani Arruda in the 12th minute of play forced Manaós's goalkeeper Valdir Pereira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the game, Manaós's Francisco Oliveira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulo José Vaz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Francisco Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo José Vaz having to interfere. After 27 played minutes Pixe got a freekick which was hit by Conrado Vale. Paulo José Vaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kiko Alvarenga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kiko Alvarenga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo José Vaz having to interfere. The Pixe players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Manaós were winning 0-1.
In the 55th minute, Kiko Alvarenga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kiko Alvarenga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo José Vaz having to interfere. Francisco Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Paulo José Vaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Kiko Alvarenga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manaós's supporters rose to their feet, but Kiko Alvarenga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo José Vaz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 65 minutes into the match, Pixe's goalkeeper Paulo José Vaz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kiko Alvarenga. In the 71st play minute Kiko Alvarenga came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Paulo José Vaz. 0-2. Conrado Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. After 77 played minutes Manaós got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luiz Vianna. Paulo José Vaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. The Pixe fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when Pixe's Geovani Arruda looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Sebastião Motta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Valdir Pereira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Geovani Arruda came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Pixe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geovani Arruda couldn't finish the play. In the 98th minute the ball was on its way in behind Manaós's goalkeeper Valdir Pereira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Manaós players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
