With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Maria Dantas in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Antônio Carlos Matorin saved Rancatoco F.C. from getting behind. In the 5th minute Franklin Faria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Carlos Matorin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronaldão Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Cristiano Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, José Maria Dantas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bascow FC's supporters rose to their feet, but José Maria Dantas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antônio Carlos Matorin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Maria Dantas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Rancatoco F.C. booed when Bascow FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celsinho Falcão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rancatoco F.C.'s Antônio Carlos Matorin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franklin Faria in the 33rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Rancatoco F.C.'s Hugo Nunes got a free kick in the 34th minute. A collision led to Rancatoco F.C. getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Hugo Nunes hit a great ball. Otávio Godoi was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 38th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 40th minute Elder Mattos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristiano Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antônio Carlos Matorin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franklin Faria in the 48th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Franklin Faria was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Rancatoco F.C.'s Antônio Carlos Matorin got control of the ball when José Maria Dantas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bascow FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Otávio Godoi in the 55th minute. In the 76th minute, Franklin Faria fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Antônio Carlos Matorin, passed just outside the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Franklin Faria in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antônio Carlos Matorin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bascow FC's Otávio Donato shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 81st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Antônio Carlos Matorin but with some difficulty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franklin Faria in the 83rd minute of play forced Rancatoco F.C.'s goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Matorin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87 minutes, Hugo Nunes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rancatoco F.C. and the Bascow FC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
