Sandro Sousa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 13th minute, Moisés Botelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Sidney de Alcântara from long distance, 14 minutes into the match, got João Pedro Bueno's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. CA Triângulo Mineiro's João Pedro Bueno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mané Neto in the 15th minute of play. When Abel Tróia came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the CA Triângulo Mineiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel Tróia couldn't finish the play. In the 34th minute Vicente Pinheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Luís Prado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute, Juninho Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 36 minutes into the game, Caetano Severo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. André Luís Prado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. André Luís Prado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caetano Severo in the 44th minute of the match. 48 minutes into the match, CA Triângulo Mineiro's goal looked a bit too open when Mané Neto came free, but João Pedro Bueno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

A collision led to CA Triângulo Mineiro getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Victor Castro hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute of the match Sidney de Alcântara sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but João Pedro Bueno skillfully saved the ball. In the 65th minute, Mané Neto made a precise shot to the right of João Pedro Bueno. CA Triângulo Mineiro's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Abel Tróia managed to get in a good position for a shot. CA Triângulo Mineiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Abel Tróia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. André Luís Prado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Caetano Severo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. André Luís Prado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 73rd minute, Abel Tróia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. André Luís Prado was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Júnior Vianna charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Júnior Vianna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Macarani getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Júnior Vianna hit a great ball. 77 minutes into the match, Macarani's goalkeeper André Luís Prado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abel Tróia. Caetano Severo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. André Luís Prado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute Caetano Severo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Luís Prado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. CA Triângulo Mineiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel Tróia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 94 minutes, Moisés Botelho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CA Triângulo Mineiro and the Macarani players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Macarani booed when CA Triângulo Mineiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisés Botelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sandro Sousa struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. João Pedro Bueno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Macarani. CA Triângulo Mineiro's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
