When Valdemar Ortiz fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marvai's protests and gave Valdemar Ortiz a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Marvai fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 12th minute. Penalty! In the 18th minute, Betinho Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jarbas Mazza struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Edmundo Andrade didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marvai. Roberto Sabóia hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. When Jarbas Mazza came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Marvai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jarbas Mazza couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

60 minutes into the match, Marvai's goal looked a bit too open when Clóvis Oliveira came free, but Dráusio Freire reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute, Clóvis Oliveira fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 69 played minutes Marvai got a freekick which was hit by Marco Macedo. When Marco Macedo fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marvai's protests and gave Marco Macedo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Timaneira booed when Marvai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 76 minutes, Kauã Duarte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Timaneira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kauã Duarte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kauã Duarte got free with Dráusio Freire in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marvai's Dráusio Freire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clóvis Oliveira in the 94th minute of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
