Toninho do Nascimento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Baracaja FC. After a defensive mix-up in Dialise Jabuka's zone, Platon Losada stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toninho do Nascimento came out of the goal and Platon Losada tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 9th minute Gert Vennerkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toninho do Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gert Vennerkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Platon Losada's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Toninho do Nascimento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Platon Losada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Toninho do Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the game, Baracaja FC's Platon Losada nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Toninho do Nascimento made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Válter Cardozo took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Júnior Baiano. Júnior Baiano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After having played for 26 minutes, Gert Vennerkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Baracaja FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gert Vennerkvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 28th minute Platon Losada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toninho do Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Platon Losada in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Toninho do Nascimento prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Platon Losada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Toninho do Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Platon Losada managed to get in a good position for a shot. Baracaja FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Platon Losada was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Toninho do Nascimento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Platon Losada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gert Vennerkvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Platon Losada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gert Vennerkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Carlos Eduardo Furtado made the kick off in the second half. Gert Vennerkvist struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. When Aílton Simão fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dialise Jabuka's protests and gave Aílton Simão a yellow card for diving instead. In the 57th minute, Aílton Simão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gert Vennerkvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Toninho do Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Dialise Jabuka getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Válter Cardozo hit a great ball. In the 66th minute, Alberto Leite ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Júnior Baiano was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Alberto Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júnior Baiano having to interfere. Toninho do Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Platon Losada, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 72nd minute Gert Vennerkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toninho do Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Baracaja FC's goalkeeper Júnior Baiano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Gert Vennerkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. Baracaja FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gert Vennerkvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Baracaja FC's much stronger midfield.
