But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rony Branco couldn't finish the play. Kaká Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo José Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Piquete AD's Kaká Domingues proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Piquete AD from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Piquete AD's Diamantino Custódio got a free kick in the 32nd minute. An unexpected shot in the 34th minute by Paulo José Alcântara got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Patriota's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. With a little luck, Piquete AD's Kaká Domingues got control of the ball when Rony Branco tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Angelo Chaves fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Patriota's protests and gave Angelo Chaves a yellow card for diving instead. Kaká Domingues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo José Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulo José Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Domingues having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diamantino Custódio to make the kick off. Thomás Rosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 60 minutes, Diamantino Custódio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piquete AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diamantino Custódio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Patriota booed when Piquete AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diamantino Custódio didn't get a good kick on the ball. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Piquete AD's Thomás Rosa got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 83rdth minute of the game Rony Branco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Piquete AD's Kaká Domingues was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 85th minute, Paulo José Alcântara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kaká Domingues was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Guga Figueiredo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Kaká Domingues. Piquete AD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 90th minute, Paulo José Alcântara made a precise shot to the right of Kaká Domingues. Piquete AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Kaká Domingues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo José Alcântara in the 95th minute of the match.
