After a rather tough play, Piquete AD's Diamantino Custódio got a free kick in the 9th minute. Ramiro Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Domingues having to interfere. Varjoia's Ramiro Penha got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Piquete AD's goalkeeper Kaká Domingues, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pedrão Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Domingues having to interfere. Pedrão Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute, Thomás Rosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedrão Varela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Kaká Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ramiro Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Domingues having to interfere. Kaká Domingues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedrão Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Júnior Sabóia came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Piquete AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júnior Sabóia couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Varjoia getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Lúcio de Andrade hit a great ball. Diamantino Custódio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kaká Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrão Varela, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. 46 minutes into the match, Piquete AD's Diamantino Custódio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manfredo Magalhães narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Diamantino Custódio made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Ramiro Penha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varjoia's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramiro Penha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kaká Domingues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ramiro Penha in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kaká Domingues prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Ramiro Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 64 minutes, Pedrão Varela managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varjoia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedrão Varela was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Varjoia's zone, Diamantino Custódio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manfredo Magalhães came out of the goal and Diamantino Custódio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Thomás Rosa fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Piquete AD's protests and gave Thomás Rosa a yellow card for diving instead. If Thomás Rosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kaká Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramiro Penha, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. If Júnior Sabóia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedrão Varela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Kaká Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute Diamantino Custódio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manfredo Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
