Spectators: 6667 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1667, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Caetano Barral took the kick off in the first half of the match. 7 minutes into the game, Beto Brito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C. R. FLAMENGO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube de Regatas Brasil the free kick. After a rather tough play, C. R. FLAMENGO's Beto Brito got a free kick in the 8th minute. Válbson Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wesley Rocha in the 10th minute of play. After having played for 12 minutes, Wesley Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube de Regatas Brasil's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wesley Rocha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Nestor Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Humberto Vale in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Válbson Quirino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Humberto Vale sped through C. R. FLAMENGO's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Válbson Quirino. Wesley Rocha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, C. R. FLAMENGO's Albertinho Antunes got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 26th minute, Humberto Vale ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Válbson Quirino was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Wesley Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válbson Quirino having to interfere. Humberto Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Válbson Quirino having to interfere. In the 41st minute Wesley Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válbson Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Humberto Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Wesley Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Clube de Regatas Brasil were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wesley Rocha was the one to do the kick off. Luizinho de Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vânderson da Rocha's late challenge caught a C. R. FLAMENGO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vânderson da Rocha helped the player get up and apologised. Humberto Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Válbson Quirino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Humberto Vale in the 58th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wesley Rocha in the 65th minute of play forced C. R. FLAMENGO's goalkeeper Válbson Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute, Clube de Regatas Brasil's Wesley Rocha dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. In the 77th match minute, Clube de Regatas Brasil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidnei Ribeiro to maneuver through the defense. Beto Brito hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Humberto Vale struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Válbson Quirino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clube de Regatas Brasil. 90 minutes into the game, Orlando Moreira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C. R. FLAMENGO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube de Regatas Brasil the free kick. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for C. R. FLAMENGO! Rafael de Sena walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 94th minute Wesley Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válbson Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over Clube de Regatas Brasil could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than C. R. FLAMENGO throughout the match.
