Dino Ortiz started the match with the kick off. Dino Ortiz struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Célio Favoretto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Estrema. 7 minutes into the game, Arthur Leal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Valoes SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Estrema the free kick. A collision led to Valoes SC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Arthur Leal hit a great ball. 9 minutes into the match, Estrema's Dino Ortiz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Célio Favoretto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 11th minute, Dino Ortiz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 14 minutes of play Valoes SC's Arthur Leal was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 15th match minute, Valoes SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arthur Leal to maneuver through the defense. Fábio Ferreira's shot from long distance in the 15th minute was not bad at all, but Valoes SC's Célio Favoretto knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. In the 17th minute Dino Ortiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Célio Favoretto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Donato Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelson Terra having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aníbal Pires during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 24 played minutes Estrema got a freekick which was hit by Aníbal Pires. Osvaldinho Penha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Osvaldinho Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelson Terra having to interfere. Dagoberto Sanches might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nelson Terra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dagoberto Sanches ran back to his position shaking his head. The long shot by Fábio Ferreira in the 45th minute really tested Célio Favoretto's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 47th minute, Valoes SC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gil Branco fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Osvaldinho Penha was the one to do the kick off. After 54 minutes Estrema's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Danilo Hoffmann who took care of the corner kick. Donato Neiva charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Donato Neiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Estrema booed when Valoes SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Neiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Dino Ortiz came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Estrema fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dino Ortiz couldn't finish the play. In the 65th match minute, Valoes SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Neiva to maneuver through the defense. Gil Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Célio Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Gil Branco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Célio Favoretto. Valoes SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gil Branco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Célio Favoretto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dino Ortiz in the 78th minute of the match. Estrema's Gil Branco got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nelson Terra came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Valoes SC's Osvaldinho Penha. But to his dismay, Osvaldinho Penha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Dino Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
