The referee ignored Estrema's protests and gave João Paulo Gaúcho a yellow card for diving instead. SC.Commanders's Geovani Meireles got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Estrema's Nelson Terra got control of the ball when Delfim Linares tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gil Branco in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Augusto Mesquita saved SC.Commanders from getting behind. If Luiz Gustavo de Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the final whistle sounded SC.Commanders left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Estrema.
