Baltazar Luz hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. 14 minutes into the match, SpartacuS's goalkeeper Manuel Paes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Giuseppe Mattos. After a rather tough play, SpartacuS's Eduardo Dante got a free kick in the 18th minute. Nuno Vieira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Manuel Paes. SpartacuS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. José Carlos Loureiro hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nuno Donato in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manuel Paes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nuno Donato to strike the kick off in the second half. Manuel Paes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuno Donato in the 55th minute of play. Manuel Paes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno Donato in the 57th minute of the match. Eduardo Dante was shown his second yellow card after 80 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Glycerio booed when SpartacuS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Dante didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind SpartacuS's goalkeeper Manuel Paes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Giuseppe Mattos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Manuel Paes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
