Gonçalo Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Telmo Esteves having to interfere. SUSSUARANA FC's Telmo Esteves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonçalo Guerra in the 19th minute of play. In the 22nd minute Jerônimo de Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelson Dante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Fábio Lira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the match, Jerônimo de Medeiros notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Philipps FC's Nelson Dante. Nelson Dante was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fábio Lira during the 33rd minute.
