The goalkeeper, Ciro Neto, was totally fooled by Soad FC's Joel Campidelis, who 17 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 22nd minute Nando Ramalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciro Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Humberto Lira kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Ciro Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nando Ramalho in the 30th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the game, Maripa Futebol Clube's Humberto Lira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edson Madureira to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmílson da Mata in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ciro Neto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 54th match minute, Maripa Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulysses Marquez to maneuver through the defense. 56 minutes into the match, Maripa Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Nando Ramalho came free, but Ciro Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Soad FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nando Ramalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ciro Neto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maripa Futebol Clube's Ciro Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nando Ramalho in the 79th minute of play. In the 80th match minute, Soad FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vitório Schmidt to maneuver through the defense.
