After 21 minutes, Edinho Barbosa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Descalvados and the Tactics DC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 32nd minute, Descalvados's Edgar Cordeiro seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Edgar Cordeiro the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Descalvados protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Edgar Cordeiro had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After a rather tough play, Descalvados's Oséias Saraiva got a free kick in the 34th minute. Aleandro Mesquita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jefferson Trigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd minute Eliézer de Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olívio Maciel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Tactics DC's Aleandro Mesquita threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jefferson Trigo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 6-0.

In the 51st minute, Dedé Zilles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
