Greenback Boogie SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Delfim Lucas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Augusto Leão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 13 minutes into the match, Delfim Lucas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zé Augusto Leão. Bony.Fc's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Delfim Lucas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Bony.Fc's Nestor Peixoto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hortêncio Zanette. That made the score 1-1 after 21 minutes of play. 23 minutes into the match, Greenback Boogie SC's goal looked a bit too open when Maurinho Vargas came free, but Hortêncio Zanette reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Delfim Lucas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 30 minutes, Delfim Lucas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Greenback Boogie SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Delfim Lucas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Greenback Boogie SC's Olívio Braga quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Renatinho Bastos, made in the 32nd minute of the game. Bony.Fc's Zé Augusto Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delfim Lucas in the 34th minute of play. Delfim Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Augusto Leão having to interfere. Delfim Lucas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zé Augusto Leão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Waldir Arantes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zé Augusto Leão having to make a save.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Delfim Lucas was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Wanderson Monteiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bony.Fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Greenback Boogie SC the free kick. A collision led to Bony.Fc getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Wanderson Monteiro hit a great ball. With a little luck, Bony.Fc's Zé Augusto Leão got control of the ball when Rodriguinho Vieira tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 58th minute Delfim Lucas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Augusto Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Delfim Lucas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodriguinho Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Delfim Lucas hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After 66 played minutes Bony.Fc got a freekick which was hit by Nestor Peixoto. Zé Augusto Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olívio Braga in the 68th minute of play. Waldir Arantes was extremely unlucky when he, in the 70th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Delfim Lucas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zé Augusto Leão came out and tried to block the shot, but Delfim Lucas slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 72nd minute. In the 81st minute, one of Bony.Fc:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Bony.Fc. When Olívio Braga came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Greenback Boogie SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olívio Braga couldn't finish the play. Zé Augusto Leão made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Olívio Braga sent off a good shot on target. In the 94th minute, Olívio Braga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zé Augusto Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delfim Lucas, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Greenback Boogie SC played a much better game than Bony.Fc and deserved their victory. The Bony.Fc players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
