Equipe's Régis Mendes got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gerson Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Doriva Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute Régis Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doriva Sá saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abel Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arí Godoi in the 28th minute of play forced Equipe's goalkeeper Davi Tinoco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerson Mesquita kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Cuipiranga's Doriva Sá played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Régis Mendes in the 35th minute of play. When Luiz Fernando Proença got free in front of the goal in the 39th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Doriva Sá was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, Abel Andrade had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Davi Tinoco. Equipe's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abel Andrade was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edu Cruz made a kick off. Luiz Fernando Proença's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Doriva Sá read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Régis Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Doriva Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luiz Fernando Proença took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Doriva Sá. Doriva Sá dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Doriva Sá stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Régis Mendes's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. When Tostão Pimenta came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Equipe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tostão Pimenta couldn't finish the play. Cuipiranga's Doriva Sá played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Régis Mendes in the 68th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Régis Mendes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Doriva Sá was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Doriva Sá showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Régis Mendes in the 76th minute of the match. Gerson Mesquita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luiz Fernando Proença could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Doriva Sá made a huge save. In the 91st match minute, Equipe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerson Mesquita to maneuver through the defense. Edu Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luiz Fernando Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doriva Sá having to interfere. After 97 played minutes Régis Mendes rounded Cuipiranga's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-4. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Equipe walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
