Spectators: 7212 (Terracing: 5410, Seating: 1659, VIP seats: 143) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Edu Cruz got the match started through his kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Anselmo Cardozo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guimarães Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Cardozo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Doriva Sá breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Abel Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 13 played minutes Guimarães Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Diego Ceresso. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anselmo Cardozo got free with Doriva Sá in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 18th minute, Abel Andrade ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Conrado Pimenta was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Edu Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conrado Pimenta having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, André Luís Gaúcho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Doriva Sá. Cuipiranga's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that André Luís Gaúcho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. When Diego Ceresso was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 32 minutes had been played. In the 32nd match minute, Guimarães Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Ceresso to maneuver through the defense. Edu Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diguinho Prado kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Guimarães Futebol Clube's zone, Abel Andrade stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Conrado Pimenta came out of the goal and Abel Andrade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 46 minutes into the match, Guimarães Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Andrade came free, but Conrado Pimenta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell André Luís Gaúcho to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, André Luís Gaúcho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Doriva Sá was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Conrado Pimenta came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Cuipiranga's Abel Andrade. But to his dismay, Abel Andrade quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Conrado Pimenta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edu Cruz, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After 69 minutes, Edu Cruz made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. Guimarães Futebol Clube's Conrado Pimenta tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edu Cruz in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Conrado Pimenta saved Guimarães Futebol Clube from getting behind. Conrado Pimenta stood somewhat misplaced when Abel Andrade came free in front of goal and shot 2-4 to the left of him in the 78 minute. André Luís Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doriva Sá having to interfere. The supporters of Guimarães Futebol Clube booed when Cuipiranga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arí Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th minute, Frederico Jacinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edu Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Conrado Pimenta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Guimarães Futebol Clube fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Cuipiranga were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
