Spectators: 7263 (Terracing: 5449, Seating: 1670, VIP seats: 144) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Claudinei da Costa started the match with the kick off. After 8 minutes of play, Palmas FC's Jânio Mendonça made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dário Maranhense was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jânio Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandro Cordeiro in the 12th minute of play forced Flatoria's goalkeeper Dário Maranhense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Hamílton Sergipano fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Flatoria's protests and gave Hamílton Sergipano a yellow card for diving instead. Hamílton Sergipano kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Sandro Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Dário Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Claudinei da Costa made a precise shot to the right of Rafa Marques. Palmas FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Sandro Cordeiro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dário Maranhense. That made the score 2-1 in the 26 minute of play. Jânio Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dário Maranhense having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Rafael Galvão left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palmas FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Jânio Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dário Maranhense having to interfere. Claudinei da Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Claudinei da Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Claudinei da Costa hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Rafa Marques made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juan Godoi in the 61st minute. Claudinei da Costa got his second yellow card in the match during the 63rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 64 played minutes Flatoria got a freekick which was hit by Claudinei da Costa. Rafa Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hamílton Sergipano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Augusto Medeiros in the 76thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rafa Marques, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A hard shot 77 in the game by Juan Godoi from a close distance when the talented Rafa Marques managed to make a qualified save. Palmas FC's players were relieved. Tadeu Tepedino was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 79 minutes into the match. 81 minutes into the match, Flatoria's goal looked a bit too open when Sandro de Lara came free, but Dário Maranhense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sandro Cordeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dário Maranhense having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Flatoria's goal looked a bit too open when Anderson Teles came free, but Dário Maranhense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Jânio Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Palmas FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
