Tiago Gabriel Bittencourt stood somewhat misplaced when Narciso Fontes came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 5 minute. In the 10th minute Narciso Fontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiago Gabriel Bittencourt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gremio's goalkeeper Osmar Quintal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vágner Paraíba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Osmar Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Ibicuitinga SC's goalkeeper Tiago Gabriel Bittencourt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Capixaba. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frédson Viana in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Osmar Quintal saved Gremio from getting behind. Ibicuitinga SC's Tiago Gabriel Bittencourt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Ibicuitinga SC from getting a goal against them. In the 36th match minute, Ibicuitinga SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Fantini to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 37 minutes, Narciso Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gremio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Narciso Fontes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ibicuitinga SC's zone, Narciso Fontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiago Gabriel Bittencourt came out of the goal and Narciso Fontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 45 minutes, Romário de Alcântara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ibicuitinga SC and the Gremio players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Gremio booed when Ibicuitinga SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romário de Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Capixaba in the 48thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tiago Gabriel Bittencourt, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 64th minute Vágner Paraíba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osmar Quintal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gremio's Osmar Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vágner Paraíba in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narciso Fontes in the 71st minute of play forced Ibicuitinga SC's goalkeeper Tiago Gabriel Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Ibicuitinga SC's goal looked a bit too open when Narciso Fontes came free, but Tiago Gabriel Bittencourt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frédson Viana took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Osmar Quintal. Osmar Quintal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After 82 minutes, Renatinho Britto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gremio and the Ibicuitinga SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Gremio getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Renatinho Britto hit a great ball. When Vágner Paraíba came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Ibicuitinga SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vágner Paraíba couldn't finish the play. After 86 minutes, Daniel Capixaba made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ibicuitinga SC's Tiago Gabriel Bittencourt tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Narciso Fontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Narciso Fontes in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tiago Gabriel Bittencourt saved Ibicuitinga SC from getting behind. In the 95th minute, Frédson Viana fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gremio fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ibicuitinga SC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
