Breno Moura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Breno Moura blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ivo Xavier having to make a save. After 20 minutes, Claudinho Baiano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caveirão and the Bananeiras FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 21 played minutes Caveirão got a freekick which was hit by Claudinho Baiano. Breno Moura struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Ivo Xavier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caveirão. When Samuca Pimenta fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bananeiras FC's protests and gave Samuca Pimenta a yellow card for diving instead. After 35 played minutes Bananeiras FC got a freekick which was hit by Samuca Pimenta. Inácio Arósio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ivo Xavier having to make a save. The Caveirão fans' excitement grew in the 38th match minute when Caveirão's Breno Moura looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Inácio Arósio took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivo Xavier. Ivo Xavier dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. The Bananeiras FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Caveirão were winning 0-3.

Samuel Duarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Basílio Favoretto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Inácio Arósio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ivo Xavier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Breno Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. The audience was convinced that Breno Moura's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ivo Xavier was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Favoretto couldn't finish the play. After 99 minutes of play, Bananeiras FC's Basílio Favoretto made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Samuel Duarte was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Caveirão supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Caveirão would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
