Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Basílio Favoretto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Severino Arósio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Mangaba's Severino Arósio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frederico Salgado in the 7th minute of play. Basílio Favoretto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Arósio having to interfere. The supporters of Mangaba booed when Bananeiras FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuca Pimenta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Basílio Favoretto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Severino Arósio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Renato Peres kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Samuca Pimenta's late challenge caught a Mangaba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Samuca Pimenta helped the player get up and apologised. Severino Arósio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basílio Favoretto, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 42ndth minute of the game Frederico Salgado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mangaba's Severino Arósio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Severino Arósio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frederico Salgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. In the 47th minute, Paulo Renato Peres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederico Salgado in the 49th minute of play forced Mangaba's goalkeeper Severino Arósio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo Renato Peres to make the kick off. 59 minutes into the match, Mangaba's goalkeeper Severino Arósio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frederico Salgado. Basílio Favoretto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. After a rather tough play, Mangaba's Paulo Renato Peres got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 75th minute, Frederico Salgado made a precise shot to the right of Severino Arósio. Mangaba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Severino Arósio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Basílio Favoretto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Waldemar Veloso missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 87 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Ivo Xavier right hand side. Waldemar Veloso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th minute Paulo Renato Peres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Xavier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Frederico Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Bananeiras FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
