After recieving a nice pass, S.D Lambrusco's Luiz Fabiano Zonta tried to score from far away in the 6th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Mangaba's Severino Arósio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Mangaba from getting a goal against them. Manfredo Mendes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Renato Peres in the 15th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Renatinho Bueno dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Severino Arósio, 1-0. Carlos Augusto Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Severino Arósio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Renato Peres in the 40th minute of play forced S.D Lambrusco's goalkeeper Manfredo Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Carlos Augusto Silva came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the S.D Lambrusco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Augusto Silva couldn't finish the play. Mangaba's Severino Arósio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renatinho Bueno in the 78th minute of play. If Renatinho Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
