When GHELMAN FC's Hortêncio de Moraes in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ivo Xavier made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Hortêncio de Moraes sent off a good shot on target. 20 minutes into the match, Basílio Favoretto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leonardo Maranhense. GHELMAN FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Basílio Favoretto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Ivo Xavier stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hortêncio de Moraes's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Samuca Pimenta charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Samuca Pimenta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Samuca Pimenta hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Hortêncio de Moraess short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Ivo Xavier to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After having played for 34 minutes, Hortêncio de Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GHELMAN FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hortêncio de Moraes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ivo Xavier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norberto Lago, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hortêncio de Moraes got free with Ivo Xavier in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edu de Souza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 43rd match minute, Bananeiras FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuca Pimenta to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Hortêncio de Moraes put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ivo Xavier. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frederico Salgado was the one to do the kick off. Ezequiel Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Xavier having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Hortêncio de Moraes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivo Xavier was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Bananeiras FC were furious when Lucas da Costa was red carded, 68 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Bananeiras FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 67th minute. Penalty! The referee gave GHELMAN FC a penalty, 70 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Benjamim Vasconcelos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Bananeiras FC's Ivo Xavier. 4-1. Hortêncio de Moraes scored 5-1 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ivo Xavier, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hortêncio de Moraes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivo Xavier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hortêncio de Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Hortêncio de Moraes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ivo Xavier was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. Andrézinho Ceresso struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Leonardo Maranhense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bananeiras FC.
