The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonathan Azevedo got free with Manfredo Mendes in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Luminosa booed when S.D Lambrusco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raí Marinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 17 played minutes S.D Lambrusco got a freekick which was hit by Arlindo Pinheiro. When Antônio Carlos Garcia fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.D Lambrusco's protests and gave Antônio Carlos Garcia a yellow card for diving instead. In the 33rd match minute, S.D Lambrusco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Coelho to maneuver through the defense. 36 minutes into the match, Luminosa's Erivaldo Seco broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guido Enol in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manfredo Mendes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 44th minute, Luiz Fabiano Zonta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luminosa's Rüdiger Herz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Augusto Silva in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The wind increased when Renatinho Bueno made the kick off in the second half. Ricardinho Corrêa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rüdiger Herz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renatinho Bueno in the 60th minute of the match. Manfredo Mendes came out of the goal and Régis Mesquita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luminosa made a substitution. Vágner Freire replaced Jonathan Azevedo. 83 minutes into the match, Guido Enol notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of S.D Lambrusco's Manfredo Mendes. Manfredo Mendes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Vágner Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luminosa walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
