Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Tião das Neves made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 8th minute, one of Deportivo De La Mata:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Deportivo De La Mata. Pedrinho Miranda shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Romário Torres came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo De La Mata's Edmílson Esteves. But to his dismay, Edmílson Esteves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Enrique Tasso was extremely unlucky when he, in the 16th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Cristian do Vale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Clóvis Cosme kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo De La Mata's zone, Tião das Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Váldson Hermes came out of the goal and Tião das Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tião das Neves in the 27th minute of play forced Deportivo De La Mata's goalkeeper Váldson Hermes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mataruca's Cristian do Vale got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Váldson Hermes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tião das Neves in the 37th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Iuri Neto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Romário Torres was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Váldson Hermes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tião das Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Mataruca players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Deportivo De La Mata were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Iuri Neto to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Clóvis Cosme was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo De La Mata's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mataruca the free kick. After a rather tough play, Deportivo De La Mata's Clóvis Cosme got a free kick in the 51st minute. After having played for 52 minutes, Cristian do Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mataruca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian do Vale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 54th minute, Cristian do Vale made a precise shot to the right of Váldson Hermes. Deportivo De La Mata's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After 57 played minutes Deportivo De La Mata got a freekick which was hit by Thomás Velasco. Tião das Neves struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Váldson Hermes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mataruca. Tião das Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Váldson Hermes having to interfere. When Iuri Neto came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Deportivo De La Mata fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iuri Neto couldn't finish the play. Iuri Neto was extremely unlucky when he, in the 81st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Cacá Aparecido hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Clóvis Cosme kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. 89 minutes into the match, Deportivo De La Mata's goal looked a bit too open when Tião das Neves came free, but Váldson Hermes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clóvis Cosme was shown his second yellow card after 90 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 91st minute, Clóvis Cosme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Tião das Neves's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Váldson Hermes was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. The Deportivo De La Mata players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
