Dragões Vermelhos's supporters rose to their feet, but Amauri Vianna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chico Luz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chico Luz came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Dragões Vermelhos's Jacinto Veiga. But to his dismay, Jacinto Veiga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 13th minute, Haroldo Linhares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chico Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusébio Santana in the 14th minute of play. Eusébio Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Haroldo Linhares hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. When Dragões Vermelhos's Jacinto Veiga in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Aporema's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Augusto Reis got free with Alan Donatello in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 34 played minutes, Dragões Vermelhos's Doni Pires shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Chico Luz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Dragões Vermelhos reached it. A collision led to Dragões Vermelhos getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Doni Pires hit a great ball. In the 39th minute, Eusébio Santana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 43 played minutes Dragões Vermelhos got a freekick which was hit by Duarte Quirino. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Veiga in the 48th minute of play forced Aporema's goalkeeper Chico Luz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

54 minutes into the match, Jaime Araújo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alan Donatello. Dragões Vermelhos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jaime Araújo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 58thth minute of the game Angelo Gonçalves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dragões Vermelhos's Alan Donatello was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Chico Luz made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Eusébio Santana sent off a good shot on target. In the 67th play minute Eusébio Santana came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Chico Luz. 1-3. The Dragões Vermelhos players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
