The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Real P.Q.D's Cristóvão Cerezo got a free kick in the 5th minute. Dário Quirino made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Célio Alvarenga sent off a good shot on target. 14 minutes into the match, Real P.Q.D's goalkeeper Dário Quirino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Célio Alvarenga. 15 minutes into the match, East Tokyo United's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Ferraz came free, but Renatinho do Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Real P.Q.D's Jano Lopes got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 18 minutes into the match, East Tokyo United's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Ferraz came free, but Renatinho do Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dário Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cido de Lara in the 23rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Jano Lopes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Renatinho do Nascimento was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. Dário Quirino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olívio de Alcântara in the 30th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Célio Alvarenga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dário Quirino. Real P.Q.D's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Célio Alvarenga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 38th minute, Célio Alvarenga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The East Tokyo United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Real P.Q.D's Dário Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cido de Lara in the 42nd minute of play. Dário Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olívio de Alcântara in the 44th minute of play. Dário Quirino made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Pedro Guimarães sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cido de Lara to strike the kick off in the second half. Célio Alvarenga charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Célio Alvarenga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 54 played minutes East Tokyo United got a freekick which was hit by Célio Alvarenga. In the 58th match minute, Real P.Q.D was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jano Lopes to maneuver through the defense. If Genílson Madureira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dário Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Rodrigues in the 67th minute of play. 69 minutes into the game, Olívio de Alcântara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Dário Quirino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 73rd minute Victor Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dário Quirino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Cido de Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dário Quirino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cido de Lara in the 90th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Cido de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot. East Tokyo United's supporters rose to their feet, but Cido de Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dário Quirino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There was no doubt that East Tokyo United were the better team. East Tokyo United's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
