The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Aporema's zone, Remo de Alcântara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chico Luz came out of the goal and Remo de Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Aporema's goalkeeper Chico Luz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Chico Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remo de Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Angelo Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fabiano de Godoi having to interfere. Chico Luz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Remo de Alcântara in the 89th minute. Angelo Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
