After 11 minutes of play, Ipaussu's Filipe Velasco made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gilmar de Almeida was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 15th minute, Deivid Vinhas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Kaká Cardoso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Washington da Costa. That made the score 1-1 in the 17 minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Waldir Dionísio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silvinho Vinhas struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Gilmar de Almeida didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ipaussu. Filipe Velasco hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. When Waldir Dionísio fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tri Mundial MZC's protests and gave Waldir Dionísio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 32nd minute, Silvinho Vinhas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Tri Mundial MZC's goal looked a bit too open when Silvinho Vinhas came free, but Gilmar de Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silvinho Vinhas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilmar de Almeida having to interfere. Washington da Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kaká Cardoso's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Júlio Siqueira kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ipaussu's zone, Kaká Cardoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Washington da Costa came out of the goal and Kaká Cardoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kaká Cardoso to strike the kick off in the second half. Cipriano Lira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Washington da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silvinho Vinhas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilmar de Almeida was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but João Neves showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 63 minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Tri Mundial MZC's goalkeeper Gilmar de Almeida had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Silvinho Vinhas. In the 70th minute Cipriano Lira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Washington da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filipe Velasco in the 83rd minute of play forced Tri Mundial MZC's goalkeeper Gilmar de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silvinho Vinhas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ipaussu's Filipe Velasco got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Filipe Velasco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilmar de Almeida read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play.
