Diogo Guerras short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Edson Ferreira to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 12thth minute of the game Nando Salles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AEC Juta Três's Chico Brodel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nando Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute Gilson Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chico Brodel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nando Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chico Brodel having to interfere. Edson Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseu Mangueira in the 30th minute of play. Gilson Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Chico Brodel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Maricoabo's goalkeeper Edson Ferreira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Diogo Guerra. Arthur Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilson Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Chico Brodel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Márcio Queiroz's late challenge caught a Maricoabo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Márcio Queiroz helped the player get up and apologised. Márcio Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Noel Rossi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nando Salles to strike the kick off in the second half. If Diogo Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Márcio Queiroz might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edson Ferreira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Márcio Queiroz ran back to his position shaking his head. Maricoabo's Edson Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diogo Guerra in the 57th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Márcio Queiroz in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edson Ferreira saved Maricoabo from getting behind. Edson Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseu Mangueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. A collision led to Maricoabo getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Bernardo Moreira hit a great ball. Chico Brodel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nando Salles in the 72nd minute of play. Maricoabo's Gilson Messias got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilson Messias got free with Chico Brodel in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Diogo Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edson Ferreira having to interfere. Diogo Guerra scored 1-0 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edson Ferreira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Edson Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseu Mangueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96th minute, Nelsinho Falcão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The AEC Juta Três fans cheered their team off the field, for while Maricoabo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
