Dieguinho Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Mané Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. The referee ignored Alexandre's protests and gave Haroldo Capixaba a yellow card for diving instead. Haroldo Capixaba kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. When Alexandre's Mané Fonseca in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the last second Edu Rosado throw himself and got hold of the ball when Leonardo Motta in the 26thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. 31 minutes into the game, Alexandre's Dieguinho Miranda nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Olavo Baptista made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Olavo Baptista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mané Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 45 minutes, Nelson Arantes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sumemo FC and the Alexandre players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nelson Arantes hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Olavo Baptista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mané Fonseca in the 47th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mané Fonseca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Mané Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 53 minutes into the game, Aloísio Moreira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Olavo Baptista was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mané Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Mané Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olavo Baptista made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Mané Fonseca sent off a good shot on target. A hard shot 70 in the game by Dieguinho Miranda from a close distance when the talented Olavo Baptista managed to make a qualified save. Sumemo FC's players were relieved. Mané Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Olavo Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Olavo Baptista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mané Fonseca, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. If Percival de Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mané Fonseca in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olavo Baptista prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alexandre's Fellipe Sergipano got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Hélder Coutinho fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sumemo FC's protests and gave Hélder Coutinho a yellow card for diving instead. In the 79th match minute, Sumemo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hélder Coutinho to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mané Fonseca got free with Olavo Baptista in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Haroldo Capixaba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Haroldo Capixabas short, quick shot in the 89thth minute got Olavo Baptista to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dieguinho Miranda in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olavo Baptista saved Sumemo FC from getting behind. With a little luck, Sumemo FC's Olavo Baptista got control of the ball when Dieguinho Miranda tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alexandre played a much better game than Sumemo FC and deserved their victory. The Sumemo FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
