Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Erasmo Amaral made the kick off which started today's match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cícero Seco got free with Tales Marinho in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 6th minute, Jerônimo Bezerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vivaldo Vargas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Vivaldo Vargas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tales Marinho was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Umberto de Queiroz in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tales Marinho saved Madeira Futebol Clube from getting behind. Tales Marinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Luiz Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 23rd minute, Madeira Futebol Clube's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Zézinho de Azevedo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Panellas's Marcelo Chaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erasmo Amaral in the 25th minute of play. After having played for 27 minutes, Vivaldo Vargas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panellas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vivaldo Vargas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tales Marinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zézinho de Azevedo in the 28th minute. With his leg Tales Marinho managed to avoid a goal in the 34thth minute, when Panellas's Cícero Seco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tales Marinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vivaldo Vargas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Horácio Cosme's late challenge caught a Panellas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Horácio Cosme helped the player get up and apologised. Horácio Cosme hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Paulinho Lira kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Panellas's zone, Tadeu do Nascimento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Chaves came out of the goal and Tadeu do Nascimento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tales Marinho made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Zézinho de Azevedo sent off a good shot on target. A hard shot 45 in the game by Vivaldo Vargas from a close distance when the talented Tales Marinho managed to make a qualified save. Madeira Futebol Clube's players were relieved. In the 46th minute, Cícero Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zézinho de Azevedo in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal.
