Spectators: 7151 (Terracing: 5397, Seating: 1654, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Adhemar Mendes started the match with the kick off. After 3 minutes of play, União Bandeirante F.C.'s Vladimir Nunes made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. With a little luck, Joga 10's Hortêncio Amorim got control of the ball when Vladimir Nunes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edmundo Maia hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Ramiro de Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 16th minute, Adhemar Mendes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adhemar Mendes in the 25th minute of play forced União Bandeirante F.C.'s goalkeeper Silvinho Valadares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Augusto Mumbach received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Silvinho Valadares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vladimir Nunes came free with the goalkeeper in the 29th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Hortêncio Amorim could save by the left post. Hortêncio Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toninho Bastos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 31 played minutes União Bandeirante F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Vladimir Nunes. After 35 played minutes Joga 10 got a freekick which was hit by Serafim Neto. In the 41st minute, Luís Fernando Correia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adhemar Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvinho Valadares having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Toninho Bastos made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adhemar Mendes got free with Silvinho Valadares in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 53 minutes into the match, Adhemar Mendes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Silvinho Valadares. União Bandeirante F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adhemar Mendes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After a rather tough play, União Bandeirante F.C.'s Vladimir Nunes got a free kick in the 57th minute. With a little luck, União Bandeirante F.C.'s Silvinho Valadares got control of the ball when Adhemar Mendes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 69th minute, Vladimir Nunes made a precise shot to the right of Hortêncio Amorim. Joga 10's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. After 81 played minutes União Bandeirante F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Wilson Zanette. In the 85thth minute of the game Adhemar Mendes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but União Bandeirante F.C.'s Silvinho Valadares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adhemar Mendes in the 88th minute of play forced União Bandeirante F.C.'s goalkeeper Silvinho Valadares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silvinho Valadares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adhemar Mendes's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Wilson Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 97 minutes into the game, Luís Fernando Correia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. União Bandeirante F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Joga 10 the free kick. The supporters of Joga 10 booed when União Bandeirante F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fernando Correia didn't get a good kick on the ball.
