The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. André Luiz Moura who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 4thth minute tested the skills of Joel Lopes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Exaltacao SS's Luís Fábio Furtado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fábio Sabóia in the 6th minute of play. Luís Fábio Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean Monteiro in the 8th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, Ihum's goal looked a bit too open when Dedé Monteiro came free, but Joel Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ihum's Joel Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dedé Monteiro in the 11th minute of play. Fábio Sabóia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Luís Fábio Furtado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Exaltacao SS's André Luiz Moura got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. André Luiz Moura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dedé Monteiro in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joel Lopes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joel Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dedé Monteiro in the 27th minute of play. André Luiz Moura got in the 28th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Joel Lopes handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when André Luiz Moura got free with Joel Lopes in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Ihum's Zeca Queirós got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 41st minute, Dedé Monteiro fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Joel Lopes, passed just outside the right post. Dedé Monteiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If André Luiz Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Dedé Monteiro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Joel Lopes. That made the score 1-0 in the 46 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Dedé Monteiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th match minute, Exaltacao SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dedé Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. After 77 played minutes Exaltacao SS got a freekick which was hit by Alfredão Cardoso. The attack was good, but when André Luiz Moura in the 80th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedé Monteiro in the 82nd minute of play forced Ihum's goalkeeper Joel Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 84 minutes, Dedé Monteiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Exaltacao SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dedé Monteiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Dedé Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Célio Ceresso during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Célio Ceresso hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. André Luiz Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Lopes having to interfere. Célio Ceresso was shown his second yellow card after 95 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 96th match minute, Exaltacao SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Célio Ceresso to maneuver through the defense. Luís Fábio Furtado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean Monteiro in the 97th minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Exaltacao SS fully deserved thier win.
