The audience thought a goal was coming when Oswaldo Sanches got free with Dráusio Almeida in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Itatira SC's Dráusio Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jailson Mangueira in the 7th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Giovana F.C.'s Jailson Mangueira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dráusio Almeida. Dráusio Almeida yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Oswaldo Sanches could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Dráusio Almeida made a huge save. Murillo Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Guilherme Nunes having to interfere. Oswaldo Sanches who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 26thth minute tested the skills of Dráusio Almeida when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Oswaldo Sanches's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dráusio Almeida read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. In the 36th minute, Olavo Pereira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luís Guilherme Nunes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 39 minutes, Cléber Peres mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Giovana F.C. and the Itatira SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 39th match minute, Giovana F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cléber Peres to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jailson Mangueira in the 42nd minute of play forced Itatira SC's goalkeeper Dráusio Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute of the game, Murillo Saldanha landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Benê Cavalcante hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Jailson Mangueira made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Oswaldo Sanches shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dráusio Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 55 minutes Itatira SC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Enrique da Rocha who took care of the corner kick. Enrique da Rocha made a great header on Giovana F.C.'s corner, it was just that Itatira SC's Dráusio Almeida managed to reach the ball for a save. Dráusio Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jailson Mangueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Luís Guilherme Nunes guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 75th minute, Oswaldo Sanches ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dráusio Almeida was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. If Oswaldo Sanches had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oswaldo Sanches received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Dráusio Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Giovana F.C.'s zone, Olavo Pereira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Guilherme Nunes came out of the goal and Olavo Pereira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dráusio Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oswaldo Sanches, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. 94 minutes into the game, Giovana F.C.'s Jailson Mangueira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dráusio Almeida made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. Itatira SC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
