Spectators: 7321 (Terracing: 5492, Seating: 1684, VIP seats: 145) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jailson Mangueira started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Águia Branca FC's Pedro Luís França got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute, Pedro Luís França hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 6th minute, Zé Paulo Sabóia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. José Novaes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oswaldo Sanches in the 10th minute. After a rather tough play, Águia Branca FC's Pedro Luís França got a free kick in the 11th minute. After having played for 12 minutes, Oswaldo Sanches managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Giovana F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Oswaldo Sanches was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Paulo Sabóia in the 13th minute of play forced Giovana F.C.'s goalkeeper Luís Guilherme Nunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 15 minutes Giovana F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Célio Cerezo who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Célio Cerezo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Giovana F.C.'s Luís Guilherme Nunes did a great save. If Oswaldo Sanches had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. José Novaes came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Giovana F.C.'s Oswaldo Sanches. But to his dismay, Oswaldo Sanches quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After 32 minutes, Pedro Luís França made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Giovana F.C.'s Luís Guilherme Nunes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 35 minutes, Oswaldo Sanches managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Giovana F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Oswaldo Sanches was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 39 played minutes Águia Branca FC got a freekick which was hit by João Vítor Ceresso. If Deivid Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jarbas de Queiroz made a kick off. In the 51st match minute, Giovana F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cléber Peres to maneuver through the defense. Giovana F.C.'s Luís Guilherme Nunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarbas de Queiroz in the 54th minute of play. Jarbas de Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Paulo Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jarbas de Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jailson Mangueira scored 2-1 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Novaes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Zé Paulo Sabóia struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Luís Guilherme Nunes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Águia Branca FC. 73 minutes into the match, Giovana F.C.'s goalkeeper Luís Guilherme Nunes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Paulo Sabóia. José Novaes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jailson Mangueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 75th minute, Jailson Mangueira made a precise shot to the right of José Novaes. Águia Branca FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. 80 minutes into the match, Giovana F.C.'s Enrique da Rocha broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 83rd minute Rodrigo Rocha suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. Jarbas de Queiroz charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jarbas de Queiroz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 84 played minutes Águia Branca FC got a freekick which was hit by Jarbas de Queiroz. After a defensive mix-up in Giovana F.C.'s zone, Zé Paulo Sabóia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Guilherme Nunes came out of the goal and Zé Paulo Sabóia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jarbas de Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Luís Guilherme Nunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Giovana F.C. had won after a very even match.
